Kimberly Nethaway, OACC Director
Kimberly Nethaway is a graduate of Hartwick College, receiving a B.S. in Music Education
with emphasis in Piano and Vocal Music. She completed graduate work at SUNY Cortland and Potsdam in Music and Education.
Kim began her teaching career at Holland Patent Central School. She retired from Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School after
a 25-year tenure, where she taught music classes and led choruses for children in Pre-K through 6th grade, as well as adaptive
music classes for children with special needs. She also served as V.V.S. Music Department Chairperson for several years.
Kim is currently Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Rome where she directs the Senior Choir and Youth Choirs.
She is a member of NYSSMA, the Presbyterian Association of Musicians, and frequently guest conducts and accompanies for area
student and adult choirs.
As a member of the American Choral Directors Association, she has performed with the ACDA Eastern
Division Community Honor Choir in Providence, and the ACDA National WomenÕs Honor Choirs in Chicago and New York City. She
has conducted six European concert tours with American Music Abroad.
As a member of the Chorale, Kim served as Secretary
to the Board of Directors for four years, and as resident accompanist for five years. As Associate Director of the Chorale
for four seasons, she conducted several OACC performances, and returns for her seventeenth season as Director of the
Chorale.
She and her husband John reside in Rome.
